It seems to work fine if you drag and drop on the display pane of the LaTeXiT window. I drag the proxy image to the latexit icon on the doc but nothing happens, latexit does not import it. I downloaded ltextit v2.6.0b15 and now I can drag-and-drop to keynote (before I had to copy/paste).

I used to be able to go backwards: copy an equation in keynote, paste it on latexit, and latexit would show the latex commands that produce the equation. > I use latexit to place equations in keynote. How can they be when Apple throws out what it has and starts over every 5 years? Mac Office, for all its minor flaws, has been improved pretty steadily without losing any functionality.Latexit & keynote Herbert Schulz herbs at You know, the ones that are so good that people actually are willing to pay money for them.

From Mac OS 10.4 (10.6 starting from version 2.12.0) to Mac OS 11, it can be deployed on almost any machine, even the old machines in laboratories that will still be used for years. Apple’s latest iPad-like iCloud-chained apps are simply not equivalent to solid desktop apps for the Mac. LaTeXiT is compatible with the most popular versions of Mac OS X. Maybe then they will see how silly their assertions are. The Apple cheerleaders seriously need to perform an objective comparison of features and operation of all the major office apps. But Apple has stripped away the intuitiveness of its own apps since it now thinks everything should be flat and grey.

Keynote is the one office app that Apple offers that holds some promise, but even that is only a marginal improvement over the unintuitive ugliness that is Powerpoint. Anyone who does significant office work knows that the features in Pages and Numbers are, and always have been, inferior to Office for the Mac.

Apple’s latest feebie baitware to support iCloud rental is not it.Īpple keeps chasing after Google. There are also many of us who know what we need. Document versions can be a lifesaver when you need to reverse some changes or recover missing text. MacDailyNews Take: Time for another funeral – a real one this time!Īpple’s ‘iWork for iCloud’ exits beta now open to everyone, no Apple device required – February 26, 2015 Apple does it well against Android, but, as usual, Apple is the exception to the rules.” “Most of Microsoft’s mobile apps are free, including Office, and the game of Chicken is about whether Microsoft can gain enough new subscriptions to online services faster than it loses revenue and profits as both Windows and Office decline in the market. The company has almost no presence among mobile devices,” Mincey writes. “What Microsoft is doing in the age of mobile devices is a game of Chicken. But in Keynote for iPad there doesn't seem to be a way to open a document from, only iTunes, iDisk, and something called WebDAV.

It’s even free online with an iCloud account.” I tried to get the presentation from my Mac to my iPad by using the 'share' button in Keynote on Mac. “Apple’s iWork, as close as a Mac can get to a home-grown Office suite, is free on every iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Why? Nobody wants to pay for a suite of Office-like apps when comparable versions are available for free,” Mincey writes. “Microsoft has been forced to giveaway Office on low end devices and it’s nearly free through subscriptions to Office 365. The Windows maker’s cash cow has run into a wall whereby fewer and fewer people want to pay for what they get free.” “That said, here’s another dinosaur and it’s about dead, too. “When was the last time anyone created a database from scratch? Those apps are dinosaurs,” Jeffrey Mincey writes for Bohemian Boomer.
